Our research:

The Blood Cancer Research Group is a recently established international team led by experienced scientists with many national and international contacts and an excellent publication record. It provides an attractive opportunity to pursue a career in science. Our research projects focus on the molecular mechanisms of cancer resistance and on the search for new approaches to the treatment of hematological malignancies using the natural antitumor capacity of the immune system. Our research center benefits from access to a large biobank with a unique collection of patient samples and a vivarium for mouse models. We use the latest experimental approaches, including flow cytometry and cell sorting (FACSAria III, Cytoflex S, Cytoflex SRT, Aurora spectral cytometer), next-generation sequencing, CRISPR-Cas9 genome modification, mass spectrometry, non-invasive bioluminescence imaging in mouse models and various molecular, biochemical and cell biology techniques. In addition, we collaborate with prestigious international medical centers, and pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, which has resulted in several patent applications. Our goal is to transfer the research results to the phase of clinical trials. Details of the projects are available on request.
 

Job description:

The University of Ostrava in Ostrava announces a selection process for the position of a specialist in flow cytometry and cell sorting in the field of hemato-oncology and cell therapy within the Blood Cancer Research Group. The candidate will be responsible for planning and performing flow cytometry experiments on patient samples or cultured cell lines, analyzing the results, guiding young scientists and laboratory technicians working on projects, and participating in the writing of scientific publications and grant applications. We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, proactive scientist with well-documented experience and a deep interest in flow cytometry. Knowledge of molecular biology, cell biology, and immunology is required. Good knowledge of the English language, including writing, is a requirement.
